After the German federal prosecutor issued an international arrest warrant for a Ukrainian accused of blowing up the Nord Stream pipelines in 2022, FVD MP Gideon van Meijeren was able to question Admiral Rob Bauer, chairman of the NATO military committee, about NATO’s continuing support for Ukraine in the light of this development. Gideon asked the admiral why NATO is continuing to support Ukraine having issued a strong statement in 2022 saying that “Any deliberate attack against Allies’ critical infrastructure would be met with a united and determined response.” In his reply, the Admiral dissembled absurdly, claiming that these were just “newspaper reports” and that the pipelines were not owned by states anyway – an untrue statement because the owners of Nord Stream include public companies like the Netherlands’ Gasunie. In short, he said there would no change in NATO for support to Ukraine … even though the German prosecutor suspects that Ukraine attacked NATO!

The new Dutch government, whose largest component is Geert Wilders’ Freedom Party, has finally got to work. But what is it going to do with its mandate? Thierry Baudet recently cross-examined the new Minister for Asylum and Migration, Marjolein Faber, in a committee hearing in the Dutch parliament. The new government claims that it will get tough on immigration - but is that enough? Surely we need to encourage people already in the country to return to their country of origin, Thierry Baudet insisted. Remigration, otherwise the Dutch will be a minority in their own country! Rather like the admiral, Mrs Faber dissembled when confronted with this idea and would not say she agreed with it. She claimed she could not look into a crystal ball and say where the Netherlands would be demographically in 2050. But the Minister does not need to look into a crystal ball to see the way things are heading, she needs only to look out of her car window the next time she is in central Rotterdam or Utrecht.

Remigration was also the topic of Thierry Baudet’s recent interview on GB News, the Dutch government having “asked permission” from Brussels to derogate from EU asylum policy. Given that the EU is currently fining Hungary €200 million because it is derogating from EU asylum policy, the chances of Brussels saying yes to the Netherlands are zero. Thierry did not beat about the bush. Immigration, he said, was “low IQ, high testosterone” and the only way to stop it is to leave the EU – something Geert Wilders says he no longer believes in. Only FVD is in favour of Nexit.

Do the concepts Left and Right have any meaning? Nick Hudson claims they do not but that they are only factors for division to keep the elite in power. If you missed The Forum and Friends, our weekly podcast, you can listen back to it by clicking below.
