FVD joins new European party with German AfD

06 september 2024 | Forum for Democracy Intl

Forum for Democracy has joined Europe of Sovereign Nations (ESN), the new European party led by Germany's AfD. In line with its vision for the Netherlands, FVD will push for an immigration freeze and an effective remigration policy at the European level. Globalism, Brussels bureaucracy and the breakdown of our sovereignty are also core issues for the party.

European cooperation

Apart from the AfD, which recently achieved great results in the state elections in Thuringia and Saxony, Mi Hazank (Hungary), The Freedom and Direct Democracy party (SPD, Czech Republic), the Confederation (Poland), Revival (Bulgaria), the People and Justice Union (Lithuania), The Republican Movement (Slovakia) and the French party Reconquest (led by Eric Zemmour) are also affiliated to the European party.

FVD itself unfortunately did not win a seat in the European Parliament in the last EU elections on 6 June, but will nevertheless join the new ESN. In addition to the political group within the European Parliament itself, a party is also being built - an organisation, in other words, that can organise congresses, open debates, carry out investigations and, moreover, greatly enlarge FVD's European network.

European institutions

As the largest member party in the Netherlands, which engages socially as well as politically, FVD will focus on, among other things, the formation of European institutions within this new cooperation.

The Sofia Declaration

Earlier this year, Ralf Dekker signed the Sofia Declaration on behalf of Forum for Democracy, which was drawn up by Bulgarian Revival, one of the parties within the new ESN. Among other things, it focused on challenging international corporatism, fighting (Brussels) bureaucracy and stopping the war through peace negotiations.
